This Data Protection Policy is issued by ElDomi Living S.L. ("ElDomi", "we", "us", or "our"), the entity responsible for determining the purposes and means of processing your personal data, in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We collaborate with trusted service providers, such as Soamee, our contracted development partner, who act as data processors and host ElDomi's backend infrastructure on DigitalOcean servers. While ElDomi remains the primary data controller, certain technical operations and storage responsibilities are delegated to Soamee as a data processor acting on our behalf.
We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means we:
Clearly specify our purposes before processing personal data through this Privacy Policy;
Limit data collection to what is necessary for legitimate purposes;

1. Definitions
User: Refers to both Tenants and Landlords using the ElDomi platform, as defined in our Terms & Conditions;
Tenant: A registered user searching for accommodation;
Landlord: A registered user listing accommodation;
Listing: A property published on ElDomi;
The Lounge: A private community space accessible only to tenants to share posts, find housing opportunities, and communicate securely;
Third Party: Any external service provider ElDomi collaborates with to deliver Platform features, such as identity verification (e.g., Veriff), email delivery (e.g., Mailgun), payment processing (e.g., Stripe), or cloud infrastructure and platform development (e.g., Soamee, whose servers are hosted on Digital Ocean).
2. What Data We Collect
2.a Registration and Account Creation
To access certain features of the ElDomi platform, we may collect the following personal data:
Full name;
Email address;
Date of birth;
Phone number;
Proof of student enrollment (e.g., valid documentation confirming enrollment at an accredited academic institution in Catalonia).
Optional data: Users may choose to submit supplementary documents to strengthen their rental application (e.g., proof of income, guarantor information, cover letter, scholarship confirmation). These documents are only processed with the user's explicit consent by uploading them to the platform.
By uploading these optional documents, you consent to their processing. If you wish to withdraw consent, you can email us at support@eldomi.es. Upon verified request, we will delete such data within 5 business days.
2.b "The Lounge" Participation
To create a post ("ad"), we collect:
Gender;
University and program;
Profile picture;
Housing preferences (e.g., smoking, pets).
2.c Booking a Property
When initiating a booking, tenants may need to upload:
Proof of financial solvency (e.g., bank statements, parental support letter);
Identity document (Passport, DNI, NIE);
Supporting documents of financial sponsors, if applicable.
This ensures legal compliance and builds trust with landlords.
3. Optional Information You May Provide
Profile details (photo, nationality, language, phone);
Messages to landlords;
Chat messages, Lounge posts, survey responses, or support interactions.
4. Automatically Collected Data
We collect:
Platform usage (pages visited, searches, bookings);
Device/browser/IP info;
Crash logs;
Cookie and session data;
Payment data (amount, method, transaction ID);
Identity verification data (if required for compliance).
5. Why We Use Your Data
a. Service Delivery
Manage bookings and interactions;
Enable tenant-landlord messaging;
Maintain platform security;
Prevent fraud (e.g., concealing contact info in chats).
b. Marketing (only with your consent)
Send updates, newsletters, and promotions;
You can unsubscribe anytime.
c. Platform Improvement
Analyze usage (aggregated/anonymized);
Conduct research and optimize features.
6. Legal Basis for Processing
We rely on:
Contract necessity: for platform and booking-related functionality;
Legitimate interests: for platform security, anti-fraud, and improving features;
Consent: for marketing, non-essential cookies, and for the processing of optional application documents (e.g., cover letter, guarantor info);

7. Sharing with Third Parties
We only share your data to:
Provide services (e.g., payments, storage, verification);
Comply with legal obligations;
Promote listings (e.g., via advertising partners, only if applicable).
We do not sell your data. When requesting a booking, you explicitly consent to share the necessary data with the landlord (e.g., identity and financial documentation). No information is shared beyond what is required to complete the rental agreement.
8. Data Storage and Retention
8.a Storage of Data
Data is securely stored on our servers, using encrypted protocols and protected access.
8.b Retention
We retain personal data:
As long as needed for service delivery or legal compliance;
Typically, up to 12 months after last profile activity or 6 months after move-out, whichever is later;
You may request deletion sooner; we'll act within 5 business days upon verification.
8.c Your Rights
ElDomi would like to make sure you are fully aware of all your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:
The right to access: You have the right to request ElDomi for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service;
The right to rectification: You have the right to request that ElDomi correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request ElDomi to complete information you believe is incomplete;
The right to erasure: You have the right to request that ElDomi erase your personal data, under certain conditions;
The right to restrict processing: You have the right to request that ElDomi restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions;
The right to object to processing: You have the right to object to ElDomi's processing of your personal data, under certain conditions;
The right to data portability: You have the right to request that ElDomi transfer the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
